Get To Know Me
The Basics
I was born and raised in
Dell Rapids, South Dakota. I got married on June 15, 2012 and we had our
first child, Blake Michael, on December 19th, 2013! I teach 5th Grade Social Studies, Spelling,
Reading, Writing, and Math in the
Tri-Valley School District. I
am also a volunteer coach for Girls on the Run and Girls on Track!
My Background
I graduated salutatorian from Dell Rapids St. Mary Catholic
Schools in 2006. I then attended Dakota State University where I received my
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I also received endorsements
for Kindergarten, Technology and Coaching (Basketball and Volleyball).
My Family
I am the second oldest
child in a family of seven. My father, Robert, is the assistant manager at the
Dell Rapids Co-op Grain Elevator and also sells insurance for DeSmet Farm
Mutual. My mother, Tammy, is a librarian at St. Mary Catholic Schools. My
older sister, Jodi, lives in Huron with her husband, Josh Spaans and daughter,
Callie. They are expecting identical twin boys in May!! My
brother, Casey, is currently teaching in the McCook Central School District
where he also coaches football. My other brother,
Jason, is attending Southeast Tech for
Architectural Engineering. My youngest sister, Kelly, is a senior at St. Mary and
participates in volleyball, softball, basketball, and track.
My Interests
I love playing, watching,
and coaching all sports! My family is very important to me and I love spending
time with them whenever possible. I also enjoy spending time with my husband, Jared and
our son, Blake! I love going to and watching movies, reading, and going
on walks. And I obviously love working with students!

people improve, learn and grow into better individuals.
